Lost Monkey's: Converge on Julie's tonight

Hello transient Monkey's,

I talked to Brian tonight, and the two Brian's agree that failing any other place to gather while things get worked out with Annie's, we should converge on Julie's. So, it's not an official Drunken Monkey, it's just a place to come an be social with friends that you might see there.

What's going on at Julie's you ask?

Well... I host my Swing Goth night there (NO COVER), and it's a Nick Cave tribute/record release night, so we'll be dancing in the back room and frolicking in the front room. If you go to Monkey, you've at least seen a lot of my regulars, because we all head down there after midnight, which is when Julie's normally closes. But tonight, if there's people there drinking, Julie's will stay open serving! :-)

Like it says above, there's no cover, but feel free to come a little early for lessons if you like. I teach Jitterbug for $5 from 8-9 and we have a special guest instructor teaching how to dance to slow, grindy and swirly modern music (which will come in handy later in the night with all the Nick Cave and Portishead and such-nots and so-forths...).

Coming to Drunken Monkey: Induction! for local goth/industrial music

Beginning Jan 24 (and planned for 4th Tuesdays), Drunken Monkey will be hosting a night of purely LOCAL GOTH/INDUSTRIAL music. No live bands, just DJs spinning music from Bay Area artists, from 10-Midnight in the back room.

This will not only be a great showcase for new and undiscovered local talent, but also a home for tried-and true homegrown hits (from now and years ago).

(Perhaps we could even still play a movie...with the sound down...but it would have to be a LOCAL movie, to keep the theme. Hmm...anyone have Sex Death & Eyeliner?) :-b

Please turn out, get your drink on in the front, and get your dance on in the back, to listen and support the local music scene.

(There will be a modest $2 admission at the back curtain.) The Cat Club, is of course, free admission for Drunken Monkey proper.
